At Good Luck Stable, we believe that learning to ride is a journey that combines skill development, confidence building, and creating a meaningful bond with horses. Our structured lesson program caters to riders of all ages and ability levels, from those who have never been on a horse to experienced equestrians looking to refine their techniques.

Our skilled instructors are dedicated to providing personalized attention in a safe, supportive environment. Each lesson is tailored to meet individual goals while ensuring proper horsemanship fundamentals are established.

– **Private Lessons:** One-on-one instruction focused entirely on your specific needs and goals $80 per hour 

– **Group Lessons:** Small group instruction (4-6 riders) organized by age and skill level $60 per hour 

– **Assessment Lesson:** For new students to determine appropriate placement in our program

– Each lesson runs 45-60 minutes depending on the program

– Beginning riders focus on basic position, balance, and communication with the horse

– Intermediate riders develop posting trot, diagonal awareness, and beginning canter work

– Advanced riders refine their skills. 

– All levels include proper horse handling, grooming, and tack knowledge

Rider Requirements

– Minimum age of 6 years for beginning lessons

– Lead line for children under 6 with a parent walking side by side

– Maximum weight limit of 275 pounds

– ASTM/SEI approved helmets required (available to borrow at no cost)

– Closed-toe shoes with a small heel recommended (boots preferred)

– Long pants required (riding breeches or jeans acceptable)

– Completion of liability waiver (parent/guardian signature for minors) for all riding wither trail or lesson

– Commitment to follow instructor guidance and stable rules

Scheduling and Policies

– Lessons available Wednesday through Sunday, by appointment

– 24-hour cancellation notice required to avoid charge for scheduled lesson

– Consistent attendance recommended for optimal progress

– Makeups available for weather cancellations or with sufficient notice

– Package rates available for multiple lesson commitments $500 for 10 lessons prepaid

What to Expect at Your First Lesson

– Please arrive 15 minutes early to complete paperwork and meet your instructor

– Initial assessment of comfort level and previous experience

– Introduction to the lesson horse and basic handling techniques

– Guided assistance with grooming and tack preparation when appropriate

– Mounting and dismounting instruction with safety as the priority

– Focus on building confidence and establishing correct fundamentals
